Chol Charoen Group was established in 1952 by a visionary leader, Mr. Mengchua Sae-Ung, who modified fresh cassava to tapioca starch. Chol Charoen Group has grown in the tapioca business alongside society and Thai farmers more than 70 years. We have made significant changes in the tapioca business and the farmers through continuous research and development. Consequently, Chol Charoen Group has become one of Thailand and Asias pioneers and forefront tapioca manufacturers.

Moreover, we support cassava farmers in Udon Thani province by utilizing cutting-edge agriculture science to develop new cassava varieties to suit Udon Thanis planting conditions.
We also provide tools and staff to share knowledge and cooperate in obtaining over 30% extra yield for the farmers. In addition, we buy cassava from the farmers at a fair price of more than 450,000 tons a year. Therefore, we can produce 120,000 tons of tapioca starch per year.
